Arigo Launches E-Commerce Platform to Build Consumer Trust

Arigo Technologies International Ltd has unveiled MyArigo, a digital marketplace designed to tackle trust issues and reduce online scams within Africa’s growing e-commerce sector.

The platform links shoppers with verified businesses, giving legitimate enterprises greater online exposure while providing consumers with a safer way to make purchases.

Africa’s digital economy has expanded significantly, supported by rising smartphone ownership and wider access to mobile internet. Despite this growth, online fraud, fake products and unreliable vendors remain major concerns, weakening consumer trust and limiting the wider adoption of digital commerce.

Technology analyst Kolawole Badekale, in a statement released on Monday, stressed the importance of verifying businesses as Africa’s digital economy continues to develop.

Badekale said the continent’s digital future would rely not just on technological advancement, but also on trust, openness and the participation of credible businesses.

He noted that fears over fraudulent transactions, the legitimacy of online businesses and consumer confidence remain key obstacles to the growth of e-commerce across Africa.

MyArigo seeks to tackle these challenges through a business verification system that allows genuine enterprises to establish an online presence, connect with potential customers and broaden their reach.

The company has also launched the Business Growth Development Programme, which gives participants an opportunity to support the acquisition of businesses while receiving commissions and performance-based rewards for bringing verified enterprises onto the platform.

According to the company, the programme is intended to promote a more reliable digital marketplace that protects consumers while creating greater opportunities for legitimate African businesses to grow.
