A businessman and oil industry professional, Dr Olorunobi Olalere, has disbursed N10m to 10 political supporters in Ondo State, with each recipient receiving N1m.
The cash assistance went to members of the Ondo For Tinubu 2027 Movement in Ward 3, Akoko North-West Local Government Area. The ward’s coordinator, Akoni Aliu, announced the development in a statement released on Monday.
Olalere, who hails from Okeagbe, reportedly provided the funds to ease the financial burden on the recipients and help sustain the group’s mobilisation drive before the 2027 presidential poll.
Beyond his work as an engineer and researcher in the oil and gas sector, the benefactor has been involved in projects aimed at improving conditions in his local community.
Aliu explained that the organisation was intensifying its campaign activities throughout Ondo State, with teams operating in all 203 political wards to rally voters behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for another term.
He noted that the initiative was led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, adding that Olalere’s intervention had provided direct financial assistance to 10 members of the organisation.
The coordinator said the grant would help the recipients meet personal needs while providing additional support for the movement’s political outreach at the community level.
He praised Olalere for directing resources towards local supporters, saying the gesture reflected his interest in improving livelihoods and encouraging participation in grassroots political activities.
The movement is one of the groups seeking to build electoral backing for Tinubu’s re-election in Ondo State under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.
Officials and political aides who attended the gathering included Bode Awe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor; Timi Oguntuase, Taiwo Awodagan and Tolu Obasanya, who serve as Special Assistants to the Governor. Also present were Aliu and Tope Fagbemi.
