The Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly known as the Sheraton Hotel, came alive today as dignitaries, policymakers, business leaders, and cultural icons gathered for the public presentation of “The Hidden Treasures”, a new book authored by Deacon Chris Iyovwaye. The event, hosted under the auspices of the Deacon Chris Iyovwaye Foundation, drew an impressive lineup of prominent personalities from across Nigeria’s political and socio-economic landscape.

The ceremony was marked by elegance, intellectual engagement, and a shared sense of purpose as guests explored the central theme of the book—an exposition on the rich resources and development opportunities within the Niger Delta. The book, which highlights untapped potential in the region, was warmly received by attendees who commended its depth and timely relevance.
Among the distinguished guests were notable national figures, including Professor Jerry Gana, former Minister of Information ; Solomon Dalung, former Minister of Youth and Sports; Ikenwachukwu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs; and several past and present government officials.

Traditional rulers, business executives, senior technocrats, and leaders of thought were also in attendance, each taking turns to unveil the book and salute the author’s vision.
Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, whose profile was prominently displayed at the venue, is celebrated as a business leader, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. He is the CEO and Chairman of the Wellmann Group of Companies—an indigenous oil and gas conglomerate with operations in heavy lift services, modular weighing, jacking systems, marine transportation, and land logistics. Beyond his corporate achievements, he is deeply involved in community development, Christian service, and charitable initiatives through his foundation.
Speaking during the launch, guests praised Deacon Iyovwaye for his commitment to national development, especially his long-standing advocacy for economic transformation in the Niger Delta. They described “The Hidden Treasures” as “a necessary contribution” to the ongoing national dialogue on resource management, regional empowerment, and sustainable development.
In his remarks, the author expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests and emphasized that the book was inspired by decades of practical experience, industry engagement, and a desire to shift the narrative about the Niger Delta—from a region often defined by environmental struggles to one rich in promise and opportunity.
The event also featured reflections on the author’s remarkable career, his philanthropic work, and his impact in the oil and gas sector. The large “About the Author” display served as a centerpiece, detailing his journey, leadership principles, and passion for social impact.
The launch ended with a group photo of dignitaries proudly holding copies of the book, marking yet another milestone in Nigeria’s literary and developmental journey.
“The Hidden Treasures” is now officially available to the public.
