TD Africa, West Africa’s leading technology distribution company, has partnered with global energy management leader Schneider Electric to jointly develop advanced, AI-enabled data centres across Nigeria. The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and enhancing the country’s competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
The announcement was made at the Schneider Electric Innovation Day Nigeria 2025, an event celebrating Schneider Electric’s 25th anniversary in the country. The conference brought together over 450 participants, including IT partners, automation engineers, architects, electrical consultants, end users, and senior government officials, under the theme “Unlocking Nigeria’s Energy Future: Policy, Innovation, and Investment.”
Chairman of the Zinox Group, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, signing on behalf of TD Africa, described the partnership as a strategic milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation. He emphasised that the initiative represents more than a technological investment, calling it a commitment to boosting the global competitiveness of Nigerian businesses over the next decade. “This partnership is a testament to TD Africa’s dedication to shaping Africa’s digital future. By building AI-powered, sustainable, and resilient data centres, we are laying the foundation for a smarter, greener, and more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
The MoU leverages TD Africa’s extensive distribution network and technological expertise alongside Schneider Electric’s global leadership in energy management and automation. Together, the companies plan to develop data centres designed for both core and edge computing environments, ensuring they are secure, scalable, energy-efficient, and compliant with international sustainability standards. The facilities are expected to enable Nigerian enterprises to adopt emerging technologies, optimise operations, and compete effectively in global markets.
The Innovation Day event also featured contributions from Schneider Electric executives, including Walid Sheta, Zone President for the Middle East & Africa, and Canninah Dladla, Cluster President, as well as senior representatives from the Energy Commission of Nigeria, the Rural Electrification Agency, Nigeria LNG, Aradel Holdings, and SEforALL. Panel discussions focused on the critical need for strategic partnerships, aligned policies, and sustained investments to support Nigeria’s evolving digital and energy sectors.
The partnership reflects a broader vision to integrate energy-efficient solutions with cutting-edge digital infrastructure, ensuring that Nigeria can meet growing demand for data-driven services while promoting environmental sustainability. By combining technological expertise, strategic investment, and innovation, TD Africa and Schneider Electric aim to create a blueprint for future-ready data centres that not only meet current business needs but also anticipate the requirements of tomorrow’s digital economy.
This collaboration represents a major step forward in building Nigeria’s digital backbone, supporting enterprise growth, and driving the country toward a more resilient, technology-driven, and globally competitive future.
