The Ogun State Police Command has detained a 28-year-old woman, Ogunlana Yemisi, on suspicion of attacking her husband, Idowu Adebowale, 31, with a sharp object.

In a statement issued to the press on Monday, the state police command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident.

According to reports, Adebowale approached the police on Monday, claiming his wife assaulted him with a sharp object following a minor argument around 4:30 a.m. on October 15. He allegedly displayed the severe injury on his genital area to the officers, which he claimed was inflicted by his wife.

Odutola added, “Upon receiving the complaint, officers swiftly responded by visiting the scene, where the suspect was apprehended.”

During interrogation, the wife denied the accusations. However, given the gravity of the injury and the fact that the complainant had not sought medical attention in a timely manner, the police issued him a medical form and advised him to visit a hospital.

The suspect remains in custody, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further inquiry.

“This information will be given detailed investigation, as it is a suspect case of uncontrollable anger, leading to domestic violence.”
