Francisca Owumi, who gained fame as a former Big Brother Naija housemate and the first runner-up in the reality TV show’s debut season in 2006, has sadly passed away. Her family confirmed her death on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message that read, “A beloved daughter and sister. May her soul find eternal peace, Amen.”
Reports indicate that Owumi succumbed to a brief illness. She was a standout contestant during the inaugural season of Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija), remembered for her lively dance performances and captivating charm. Owumi was part of a memorable group of housemates, including Katung Aduwak, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, and the late Joseph Ada.
Following her time on reality TV, Owumi pursued her love for music, releasing two singles, “Gbadun You” and “Diva,” through her own label, Cisca Entertainment, in 2012. She also contributed as a writer for Revista, an international publication based in Ghana.
