Nigerian artist Oladapo Oyebanjo, widely known as D’Banj, made a visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State House on Thursday.
This meeting was shared by the governor’s Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, through a video posted on X.com. Gawat captioned the post, “Between Governor #jidesanwoolu and #iamdbanj earlier today. D’banj referred to the governor as ‘the real Koko Master.'”
The visit took place ahead of the launch of D’Banj’s forthcoming album, “The Entertainer: D’Sequel,” set to drop on Friday. During the visit, D’Banj reportedly presented a commemorative plaque to Governor Sanwo-Olu in honor of the album’s release.
“The Entertainer: D’Sequel” is said to be a continuation of D’Banj’s recent single, “Koko,” and further develops the narrative started by his track “Since ’04,” which marked his two-decade-long journey in the music industry.
