There have been two deaths among the Kebbi State Hajj pilgrims.
Alhaji Malami Besse of Koko Besse passed away in Kebbi on Sunday, not long after returning from Saudi Arabia. In contrast, Hajiya Maryamu Mayalo of Kebbi State’s Maiyama Local Government Area passed away in Mecca following a lengthy illness.
Faruk Inabo, the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, revealed the happenings in a statement on Sunday.
The statement claims that Mayalo passed away on Sunday in Makka’s King Abdulazeez Hospital.
Mayalo and Besse’s deaths bring the total number of Kebbi State Hajj pilgrims who have died to five.
The deaths of Muhammad Suleiman from Argungu LGA, Abubakar Argungu from Jega Local Government Area, and Tawalkatu Alako from Jega LGA were revealed by the government some weeks prior.
Around 1,300 Hajj pilgrims perished in the Holy Land during this year’s Hajj, according to information released by Saudi Arabian officials last week. Heat waves were blamed for the majority of the fatalities.
In the Sunday statement, the Kebbi pilgrim agency said, “The late Hajiya Maryamu will be buried after Asr prayer at Haram Mosque according to Islamic rites.
