Dumebi Kachikwu has pledged to rebuild Nigeria and create a more inclusive society after emerging as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general election.
Speaking to party members and supporters after accepting the party’s nomination, Kachikwu promised to lead Nigeria on what he described as a new path toward national transformation.
“I thank all our party faithful, including our National Chairman, Alhaji Bashir. Together, we can chart a new course for our nation,” he said.
Kachikwu argued that Nigeria’s current political and governance structure requires fundamental reforms, stressing the need to abandon outdated systems inherited from the colonial era.
“We will build Nigeria from the ground up and do away with the faulty and archaic colonial foundations that now characterize our current existence,” he stated.
The ADC candidate also called for the creation of a more inclusive nation that guarantees equal rights and opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or background.
“We must build a new nation that is not only inclusive but also guarantees equal rights and freedom of expression for all, irrespective of tribe, tongue, or religion,” he added.
Kachikwu further urged Nigerians to embrace the ADC’s vision ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that the party is committed to providing an alternative political direction for the country.
