Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has altered the portfolios of four members of the State Executive Council in a move that takes effect immediately.

The changes were communicated through a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Gebon Kataps, and dated August 26, 2026. The announcement was made available to journalists in Jalingo.

Peter George, who had been overseeing Commerce, Trade and Industry, will now take charge of Water Management and Aquatic Affairs.

Daniel Ishaku, previously responsible for the water management portfolio, has been assigned to Waste Management and Resource Innovation.

Bernard Shonzen James Kassa, who headed the waste management ministry, has been moved to Social Development and Human Services.

Philip Habu James, formerly the commissioner for Social Development and Human Services, will now oversee Commerce, Trade and Industry.

The government said the affected officials are expected to assume their new responsibilities without delay.

The Secretary to the State Government said Governor Kefas had conveyed his best wishes to the commissioners as they begin work in their respective new portfolios.

The adjustment represents the latest change within the governor’s cabinet as the administration continues to pursue its development agenda and coordinate the delivery of government programmes across Taraba State.
