The Israeli Government has donated a first batch of fully equipped ambulances, medical equipment and wheelchairs to Nigeria, in what officials say is part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and emergency response across the country. The items were handed over at the Port of Ashdod in Israel.
The donation was made through Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical and disaster-response service, on behalf of the Israeli Government. Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, received the consignment on behalf of the Nigerian government.
What Nigeria Received
The consignment includes fully equipped ambulances, modern medical devices and mobility aids, including wheelchairs. The equipment is expected to be deployed to appropriate hospitals and emergency-response centres across Nigeria.
The intervention is expected to improve emergency transportation, patient care and disaster-response capacity, particularly in communities where access to emergency medical infrastructure remains limited.
