Results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election are gradually appearing on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s online results platform.
By 8:06pm, the commission’s IReV portal had received submissions from 3,119 of the 3,763 polling units expected to transmit results. That puts the number of results received at 82.89 per cent, compared with 2,897 submissions recorded roughly 45 minutes earlier.
The latest entry seen on the platform was submitted at 8:00:34pm from polling unit 29/11/11/009 in Ife North Local Government Area.
Result transmission was still ongoing across Osun’s 30 local government areas as officials continued the collation process.
The election features Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking another term, alongside major challengers including Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress, among other candidates.
The IReV system has allowed members of the public, political parties and observers to follow polling-unit submissions as they are transmitted, giving them access to updates during the collation exercise.
INEC’s results dashboard continued to change as more polling units submitted their figures, with fresh updates available whenever users refreshed the page.
