Popular Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo was laid to rest on Thursday in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State, marking the end of a series of funeral activities organised in his honour.
Relatives, friends, colleagues and admirers gathered to bid the actor a final farewell following his death in May. The ceremony drew a large turnout from members of the entertainment industry and residents of the community.
The funeral service took place at Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village before his remains were interred at the family compound in Ujari Village. A reception was later held to celebrate his life and contributions to Nollywood.
Widely admired for his talent, charisma and fashion style, Alexx Ekubo built a successful career with appearances in numerous films and television productions. Tributes from fans and fellow actors described him as a warm, cheerful and inspiring personality.
Although his passing has left a huge void in the industry, many believe his work and impact will continue to be remembered for years to come.
