Poco Lee Faces Rape, Assault Charges

Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, widely recognised by his stage name, Poco Lee, is facing several serious sexual offence charges in the United Kingdom.

The charges reportedly include one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. The development has attracted considerable attention following reports of the dancer’s detention and his scheduled appearance before a court in London.

James Baker, the Admin Team Leader at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, reportedly confirmed the charges to Punch on Wednesday. He also stated that restrictions have been placed on reporting certain details of the case in order to safeguard the identity and privacy of the complainant.

Reports indicate that Poco Lee is currently being held in custody in the UK pending further proceedings. He is expected to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, Poco Lee’s management has moved to correct some claims circulating online concerning the case.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the management specifically dismissed reports connecting the case to allegations of “drink spiking.” According to the team, such claims are not included among the offences for which the entertainer has been charged before the British court.

The statement, signed by Adedoyin Faleye on behalf of Poco Lee’s management, was released against the backdrop of increasing public interest in the dancer’s reported detention and upcoming court proceedings.

The management expressed concern over what it described as the circulation of unconfirmed accounts and information that allegedly does not form part of the court proceedings.

It appealed to journalists, social media users and members of the public to exercise caution when discussing the matter, stressing the importance of relying on verified information contained in the actual court case.

The team warned that attaching unrelated allegations to an ongoing legal matter could contribute to misinformation and potentially influence public perception of the individuals involved.

Management Seeks Restraint

Poco Lee’s representatives also called on the public to allow the British justice system to handle the matter without unnecessary speculation.

The management emphasised that the accusations against the entertainer should not automatically be interpreted as proof of wrongdoing. It maintained that allegations must be tested through the legal process before any conclusion can be reached.

The team further highlighted the importance of due process, noting that everyone involved in a criminal proceeding deserves a fair hearing.

It urged members of the public to refrain from reaching conclusions based solely on information circulating on social media or other unofficial platforms.

According to the management, additional details concerning the matter would be communicated through appropriate official channels whenever necessary.

The statement also reiterated its objection to reports linking the case to drink-spiking allegations, insisting that such claims are not contained in the charges currently before the UK court.

The management maintained that introducing information outside the scope of the case could create unnecessary confusion and encourage the spread of inaccurate reports.

As Poco Lee awaits his next court appearance, the case remains before the UK judicial system, with his management urging the public and media to exercise restraint and allow the legal proceedings to run their course.
