Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has declared his readiness to relocate to Kano State for two weeks to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bello made the statement during an empowerment programme organised by the Leke Abejide Foundation in Kano, where he called on Yoruba and other non-indigenous residents of the state to increase their political participation and work towards securing more votes for Tinubu.
The former governor expressed dissatisfaction with the nearly 500,000 votes Tinubu received in Kano during the 2023 presidential election, insisting that the figure was below expectations.
He challenged the communities to mobilise at least two million votes for the president in 2027, stressing that their support should also extend to other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bello expressed confidence in the ability of Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives, to lead the mobilisation effort.
He also appealed to Nigerians, particularly those in the North, to support Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that the president should be allowed to complete two terms in office.
Bello further defended the Tinubu administration’s performance, pointing to ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Kano-Abuja highway, as evidence of its commitment to development in the region.
