Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has launched her bid for another term in the Senate, taking her campaign to communities across Kogi Central on Sunday ahead of the February 6, 2027 election.
The campaign tour featured welcoming crowds in several locations, including parts of Okene, before ending at her residence in Obeiba, Ihima, within Okehi Local Government Area.
Her media aide, Mike Idoko, announced the development in a statement released in Abuja on Monday.
The exercise brought together Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters, community representatives, political figures and party candidates seeking seats in the National Assembly and Kogi State House of Assembly.
The lawmaker attended the campaign events alongside her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, and other political allies. During the visits, she highlighted her plans to improve representation, advance community interests and promote development across the district.
Akpoti-Uduaghan maintained that her connection with the people was not tied to the election cycle, describing their encouragement as an important motivation for her continued involvement in public service.
She expressed appreciation to residents who participated in the activities, saying their turnout reflected the trust and understanding established between her and her constituents over time.
The senator further promised to pursue more public infrastructure, business prospects and development initiatives for Kogi Central, with particular attention to Ajaokuta, which she said needed continuous government focus.
She noted that serving constituents required more than holding an elected position, stressing the importance of listening to residents, addressing their concerns and using legislative responsibilities to deliver practical results.
Also present were PDP hopefuls for the House of Representatives in Adavi/Okehi, Ajaokuta and Okene/Ogori-Magongo, alongside candidates vying for seats in the Kogi State House of Assembly across the senatorial district.
The joint campaign activities also offered party contenders a platform to consolidate their working relationship as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
According to the statement, a large crowd converged on the senator’s home in Ihima, where supporters stayed until late at night.
Kogi Central Senatorial District consists of Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene and Ogori-Magongo local government areas.
