The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke is not fully in control of the affairs of the state.
Sowore made the claim while appearing on News Central TV’s breakfast programme, where he questioned the leadership and performance of the Adeleke administration.
According to the AAC presidential candidate, the governor’s sister and elder brother allegedly play a major role in running the state.
“What I saw in Adeleke’s leadership is that the guy is not even in control of his government,” Sowore said.
He further alleged that Adeleke’s sister was running the state behind the scenes, while also linking the governor’s elder brother to the alleged family influence over government affairs.
Sowore described the situation as a family affair and said he was particularly disappointed after watching Adeleke’s appearance at an Arise TV town hall, where the governor discussed his administration and achievements.
The AAC candidate also dismissed some of the achievements attributed to Adeleke’s administration, suggesting that the governor’s performance did not match the claims being made by his supporters.
Sowore’s comments come amid heightened political activity in Osun State as the 2026 governorship election approaches, with the performance of the Adeleke administration becoming a major subject of debate among political parties and opposition figures.
The allegations remain claims by Sowore, and no evidence was provided in the comments to substantiate the assertion that Adeleke’s relatives control the state government.
