RTEAN Calls For Permanent Trailer Park In Gwagwalada

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has called for the establishment of a permanent trailer park in Gwagwalada, Abuja, to address the growing problem of articulated vehicles parking along roads.

The association said the lack of a designated parking facility has forced some truck drivers to park on roadsides, creating avoidable traffic challenges and posing risks to other road users.

According to the report by Daily Trust, the call was made in response to concerns over the activities of truck drivers who park indiscriminately along major roads in the area.

RTEAN said a permanent trailer park would provide a safer and more organised location for truck operators to park their vehicles, while also helping to reduce obstruction and improve traffic flow.

The association urged relevant authorities to consider the proposal and take steps towards providing a suitable and properly managed facility for articulated vehicles in Gwagwalada.

It noted that addressing the parking challenge would not only improve road safety but also contribute to better traffic management within the area
