The 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) brought serious excitement to Lagos as stars from across Africa gathered to celebrate the best in film, television, and digital entertainment.

The night was full of glamour, emotional moments, and big wins, with several standout productions and actors taking home top honours.

One of the biggest winners of the night was My Father’s Shadow, which picked up the award for Best Movie, earning praise for its strong storytelling and production quality.

In the acting categories, Uzor Arukwe won Best Lead Actor for his role in Colours of Fire, while Linda Ejiofor clinched Best Lead Actress for her performance in The Serpent’s Gift.

The supporting categories also saw strong recognition, with Bucci Franklin winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in To Kill a Monkey.

Other notable winners included Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, which took home Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), and To Kill a Monkey, which also earned recognition for Best Editing.

Beyond the awards, the event was filled with stylish red carpet moments, emotional speeches, and loud cheers from fans and colleagues celebrating African creativity at its peak.

Overall, the 2026 AMVCA was another reminder of how fast African entertainment continues to grow, with Nollywood and other industries producing world-class talent and stories that are gaining global attention.
