Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter Peter Luis Onuh, popularly known as VJ Skinny, has opened up about the experiences behind his latest two-track project, 2 Truths, describing the release as a reflection of two contrasting sides of his life.
Released on September 25, 2026, the project explores two different chapters of his personal journey — survival and love.
Rather than presenting the project as simply a collection of two songs, the artiste uses each track to explore a different chapter of his personal journey — survival and love.
The first track draws from the realities of growing up, facing challenges and learning to rely on oneself. It reflects the struggles that pushed him to remain determined, keep moving and pursue his ambitions despite difficult circumstances.
The second track takes a more intimate direction, exploring his experience with love and emotional vulnerability.
Having built barriers around his heart as a result of past experiences, VJ Skinny tells the story of finding someone who made him reconsider those walls and take another chance on love.
The two songs therefore present different versions of the artiste: one shaped by hardship and the other awakened by the possibility of love.
“Two tracks. Two truths. One story — mine,” the artiste said, explaining the idea behind the project.
