As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated a Mobilisation, Registration and Revalidation Committee as part of efforts to strengthen its internal structures and expand its membership base nationwide.
The inauguration, which took place in Abuja, signals the party’s determination to reposition itself as a formidable political force ahead of the next election cycle. Party leaders described the move as a strategic step aimed at consolidating grassroots support, updating membership records, and ensuring greater participation across all levels of the party.
Speaking at the event, national leaders of the ADC emphasized that the newly constituted committee would play a critical role in redefining the party’s outreach strategy. They explained that the assignment includes mobilising new members, revalidating existing ones, and coordinating registration activities across states and local government areas.
According to the party, the committee is expected to work closely with state and ward executives to ensure a seamless process that reflects transparency, inclusiveness, and internal democracy. The leadership noted that a credible and updated membership register is essential for effective planning, candidate selection, and campaign organisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
ADC officials further stated that the committee’s work would focus on energising young people, women, professionals, and grassroots supporters who are seeking alternatives within Nigeria’s political space. They stressed that the party remains committed to offering Nigerians a platform built on accountability, good governance, and people-oriented policies.
The leadership also charged committee members to approach their assignment with dedication and integrity, reminding them that the success of the exercise would significantly influence the party’s performance in future elections. Party stakeholders expressed confidence that the team has the experience and capacity required to deliver on its mandate.
In his remarks, a senior party official explained that mobilisation and revalidation are not just administrative exercises but vital tools for reconnecting with members and supporters nationwide. He noted that many Nigerians are becoming increasingly interested in alternative political platforms and that the ADC intends to harness this interest through structured engagement.
The inauguration comes at a time when political parties across the country are reviewing their strategies in anticipation of heightened political activities. Analysts say the ADC’s early focus on organisation and grassroots engagement could enhance its visibility and competitiveness as alliances and defections reshape the political landscape.
Party leaders also used the occasion to reiterate their commitment to internal unity and discipline, urging members to work collectively for the growth of the party. They called on Nigerians who share the ADC’s vision to take advantage of the ongoing mobilisation drive and formally identify with the party.
With the establishment of the Mobilisation, Registration and Revalidation Committee, the ADC has reaffirmed its intention to play an active role in the 2027 elections. Observers believe that the effectiveness of the committee’s work in the coming months will determine how well the party positions itself as a viable option for voters seeking change in Nigeria’s political system.
