Former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Yobe State, Hon. Mohammed Bello, on Thursday, held a private meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the latter’s residence.
Sources familiar with the meeting told reporters that the discussion focused on political consultations and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 general elections. Although the specifics of their conversation were not disclosed, insiders hinted that talks may have revolved around possible political realignments and collaborations as the country prepares for another electoral cycle.
Hon. Bello, who recently quit the APC, contested the Yobe East Senatorial by-election in 2024, but later announced his resignation from the ruling party. His recent political engagements have stirred speculation about his next move, with many observers linking his actions to efforts by opposition figures to strengthen their positions ahead of 2027.
While neither Bello nor Atiku has issued an official statement regarding the outcome of the meeting, political analysts believe the conversation could signal early steps toward building alliances across party lines.
Further updates are expected as more information emerges from ongoing political consultations.
