Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, attended a Sunday service at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in his hometown, Opobo, marking his first public worship since being reinstated.
Joined by his wife and political allies, Fubara expressed gratitude for divine faithfulness to his family, the state, and Nigeria. He also acknowledged the International Day of Peace, urging calm as his administration resumes.
His return follows the lifting of a federal state of emergency imposed due to a political crisis involving FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Fubara said he complied with the emergency rule out of commitment to peace and stability, despite the suspension of democratic institutions.
