Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eradicating banditry and restoring peace across the state.
Speaking at the 9th regular meeting of the State Executive Council held at the Government House in Sokoto on Wednesday, Aliyu highlighted the state’s ongoing support for security agencies, including the provision of essential logistics to aid their operations in troubled local government areas.
“We’ve also introduced new strategies which, by Allah’s grace, will help us bring banditry to an end in Sokoto State,” the governor stated.
He described the insecurity in parts of the state as a serious challenge that has hindered socio-economic development but assured citizens of his administration’s determination to overcome the issue.
Aliyu called on residents to support the government’s efforts by cooperating with security forces and remaining vigilant.
On the governance front, the governor directed all commissioners to regularly inspect projects under their ministries to ensure proper execution and quality delivery.
“Through routine inspections, you’ll be able to monitor the standard of work being done. We won’t tolerate substandard projects or unnecessary delays. Quality must never be compromised,” he emphasized.
Aliyu added that the people of Sokoto, who voted overwhelmingly for the All Progressives Congress (APC), deserve meaningful development and impactful governance.
He expressed gratitude to citizens for their continued support and prayers and pledged to deliver more developmental projects and democratic dividends across the state.
