The All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus of National Assembly members from Cross River State has declared support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu to seek re-election in 2027.

Furthermore, The endorsement, announced during a gathering in Calabar on Thursday, was led by Senator Eteng Williams, representing Cross River Central and Chairman of the caucus. The lawmakers described their backing as a unanimous decision from APC members across the state’s senatorial districts and 18 local government areas.

Williams praised Tinubu’s achievements, particularly the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the national student loan initiative, and infrastructure improvements. He described the president as a “courageous leader” and urged residents of the state to support Tinubu for continuity.

“Our president has done so well, especially with projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. For that reason, we endorse him for a second term to ensure continuity,” Williams stated.

He also commended Governor Otu’s strides in rehabilitating state infrastructure, enhancing security with Operation Okwok, and improving public services.

“Governor Otu has made remarkable progress. From the state library rehabilitation to improved security, his achievements speak for themselves. He deserves another term,” Williams added.

Other National Assembly members, including Mike Etaba (Obubra/Etung) and Bassey Akiba (Calabar Municipality/Odukpani), echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the need for political stability to allow the two leaders to focus on governance.
