A 25-year-old Zimbabwean woman, Blessing Chiromonyo, has been arrested and charged with murder following the alleged killing of her two children.
The tragic incident occurred on January 8, 2025, at a water canal in Triangle, Masvingo. Reports revealed that the woman’s actions were motivated by suspicions of infidelity by her husband.
According to a police statement posted on X, Blessing Chiromonyo took her two daughters, aged 3 and 7, to a canal, where she attempted a murder-suicide by jumping into the water with them. The strong currents carried the children away, resulting in their drowning, while Chiromonyo escaped unharmed.
