An incident occurred in Iperu community, Ogun State, on December 12, 2024, when a woman, identified as Sarah Ayinde, allegedly set her husband, Abidemi Ayinde, a special constable with the Ogun State Police Command, ablaze following a minor disagreement.

According to reports, the dispute escalated, leading to the wife’s drastic action, which left her husband with severe burns. The victim is currently receiving treatment at Bolawatife Hospital and is in stable condition.

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident, and efforts are made to apprehend the suspect and the division’s crime branch is investigating the case further.

The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, stated that the suspect would be brought to justice once apprehended and the incident has raised concern over the rising cases of domestic violence in the country.
