Pastor Tunde Bakare, the founder of The Citadel Global Community Church, marked a significant milestone on Monday, November 11, as he celebrated his 70th birthday. President Bola Tinubu congratulated Bakare, describing him as “one of Nigeria’s most influential voices”. This tribute highlighted Bakare’s impact on Nigerian society, particularly through his advocacy for good governance and his role as a co-convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG).

 

The celebration, which was attended by a host of distinguished dignitaries, political leaders, and well-wishers, included notable figures such as Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II. Other prominent guests included former Ogun State Governors Olusegun Osoba and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

 

Also in attendance were Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, Pastor Poju Oyemade, and other respected clergy members. The event was a testament to Bakare’s dedication to serving Nigeria and his community.

 

Bakare has made significant contributions to Nigerian society as a distinguished lawyer, pastor, leader, author, and advocate for good governance. His influence and legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire and shape the lives of many as he enters this new chapter.

 

The weeklong programme of activities to mark Bakare’s 70th birthday celebration included various events that showcased his impact on Nigerian society. The celebration was a fitting tribute to Pastor Bakare’s remarkable life and legacy.

 

Church Gist joined in the celebration, wishing Pastor Bakare “all of God’s abundant blessings” and praying that “his grace will continue to rest upon your life and ministry”. The organization expressed gratitude for Bakare’s life and praised God for keeping him to witness this milestone age.

 

The event also saw the official launch of Bakare’s autobiography, titled “The Last, But Definitely Not the Least”. This milestone marked a significant moment in Bakare’s life, as he reflected on his experiences and contributions to Nigerian society.

 

As Pastor Bakare begins this new chapter in his life, he remains a symbol of hope and inspiration to many Nigerians. His unwavering commitment to the betterment of society and his unrelenting passion for justice have left an indelible mark on the nation.
