A devastating incident has occured in Abuja where a  building collapsed  on Saturday in Sabon Lugbe area, leaving at least 40 people trapped. The building which was reported to be under construction crumbled early morning, prompting urgent rescue efforts.

 

The rescue operations are currently ongoing, with emergency workers and sympathizers who are currently working against time to save those trapped. Witnesses urge additional support, emphasizing the need for swift government intervention.

 

“No fewer than 40 persons are currently trapped in a building collapsethat occurred in the Sabon Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory,Abuja. People are under this rubble, It is a building underconstruction.

 

We are calling on the government and relevant agenciesto come and rescue those trapped,” an eyewitness pleaded.


This tragedy
occurs after another recent collapse in Abuja’s Kubwa area, where four were rescued from a two-story residential building.


Some co
oncerned citizens demand stricter enforcement of building codes to prevent similar disasters from occuring again.
