Controversial actress, Halima Abubakar, who was recently suspended from Nollywood for spreading falsehoods about her colleagues, has issued a heartfelt apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman, the general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, for the damaging lies she circulated about him online.
In her letter, she expressed, “I am writing today to acknowledge the false allegations I made against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies. After a period of deep reflection and a desire to reconcile my conscience with God, I now realize the extent of the harm, pain, and distress my false statements have caused.
“I admit that the allegations I made were baseless, and I deeply regret the damage I have inflicted upon you, your wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministries.
With this letter, I humbly seek your forgiveness, understanding that my apology cannot undo the hurt I caused. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me, as I was not thinking clearly at the time.
“Sir, you have done so much for humanity. Please extend your hands of forgiveness toward me. Once again, I am truly sorry for all the pain and distress I have caused you, your family, and your ministry. Thank you, and may God bring peace to your heart. God bless you, sir.”
It is important to recall that Suleman had previously filed a N1 billion naira lawsuit against Halima for defaming him. He sought a court declaration that her public statements were defamatory, demanded an unconditional apology, and sought compensation for damages.
Additionally, Suleman requested that Halima retract her false claims, publish corrections on her Instagram page, as well as in online blogs and newspapers. He also sought an extra N20 million naira to cover the legal fees for the case.
Halima had alleged that she had a six-year romantic relationship with Suleman and that she became pregnant by him three times, accusing him of forcing her to terminate the pregnancies, among other claims.
