On Wednesday, the Federal Government dropped money laundering charges against Binance Holdings Limited executive, Tigran Gambaryan.
Previously, Binance, along with Gambaryan, the U.S. head of financial crime compliance, and Nadeem Anjarwalla, Binance’s British-Kenyan regional manager for Africa, faced allegations of money laundering totaling $35 million, brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Initially, both Gambaryan and Anjarwalla were held by the National Security Adviser’s office. However, Anjarwalla escaped custody on March 22, 2024, while Gambaryan was formally charged in April.
After his arraignment, the court ordered Gambaryan to be held at the Kuje Correctional Facility.
More details are expected soon.
