President Bola Tinubu will depart from Abuja on Wednesday for a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom. Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, announced this in a signed statement, noting that the trip is part of the president’s annual leave.
The statement, titled “President Tinubu Goes on Annual Leave,” indicated that he plans to use the time for a working vacation and to reflect on the economic reforms of his administration. It also mentioned that he would return to Nigeria once the leave concludes.
Sources close to the president have confirmed that this two-week break is indeed part of his annual leave. This trip occurs two weeks after Tinubu’s return from London, where he had an audience with King Charles III.
With this journey, the UK becomes Tinubu’s 27th international destination since he took office around 16 months ago, marking his fourth visit to the country. His travels have included numerous destinations such as Equatorial Guinea, various trips to London, and several other countries including Kenya, South Africa, and the United States.
