Saturday, April 27th, marks the initiation of the demolition process for buildings located within the right of way of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, as announced by the Federal Government. Korede Keisha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, revealed this during a press briefing in Lagos on Thursday. Keisha urged all affected residents to visit the ministry’s secretariat in Lagos to address any necessary procedures.

Keisha emphasized that the purpose of the press briefing is to create awareness among individuals involved or having concerns along the project corridor. Demolition notices have been served to those within the right of way, and the ministry is extending an invitation for affected parties to visit the secretariat from today until tomorrow evening.

The demolition team is scheduled to begin removing the identified properties on Saturday, particularly focusing on the first three kilometers of the project. The minister stressed the urgency for those within this range to engage with the ministry promptly.

Furthermore, Minister of Works, Dave Umahi recently disclosed that the construction of the Lagos-Calabar coastal road is anticipated to last eight years and cost N4 billion per kilometer. The ambitious project aims to connect Lagos to Cross River, traversing multiple states before reaching its peak destination.
