In an exclusive interview with China Central Television (CCTV), President Denis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of the Congo articulated his nation’s commitment to contributing towards global peace amidst the pervasive violence and unrest plaguing various regions worldwide. Emphasizing the significance of China-proposed initiatives in global governance, President Sassou underscored the interconnectedness of nations, asserting that no country can remain immune to the ramifications of global violence.

Reflecting on the current state of global affairs, President Sassou acknowledged the precariousness of the world, characterized by rampant violence and instability. Despite the Republic of the Congo’s efforts to ensure the well-being and livelihood of its citizens, President Sassou acknowledged the impossibility of isolating the nation from the broader geopolitical landscape. Instead, he conveyed deep concern regarding peace and security issues in diverse regions, highlighting the Republic of the Congo’s proactive stance in addressing these challenges.

Central to President Sassou’s discourse was the Republic of the Congo’s willingness to play a mediating role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, underscoring the nation’s commitment to fostering peace and stability on the African continent and beyond. Drawing parallels to the Republic of the Congo’s historical involvement in the national liberation process of Southern Africa, President Sassou positioned his nation as an advocate for peace and a catalyst for conflict resolution.

Furthermore, President Sassou extolled the importance of three initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, namely the Global Civilization Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, and the Global Security Initiative. He lauded these initiatives as timely and pertinent responses to the evolving dynamics of global governance amidst tumultuous times. According to President Sassou, embracing a multifaceted approach to global governance is imperative to navigate the complexities of the contemporary world order effectively.

President Sassou’s endorsement of President Xi Jinping’s initiatives underscores the Republic of the Congo’s alignment with China’s vision for global governance and its recognition of the need for comprehensive strategies to address multifaceted challenges. By advocating for a holistic approach to global governance, President Sassou emphasized the importance of embracing diverse perspectives and innovative solutions to mitigate the perils of global violence and unrest.

In conclusion, President Denis Sassou Nguesso’s remarks during the exclusive interview with China Central Television (CCTV) underscore the Republic of the Congo’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace and security on the global stage. Through active engagement and support for China-proposed initiatives, President Sassou reaffirmed his nation’s dedication to contributing towards a more stable, prosperous, and harmonious world order.
