NDLEA Arrests Socialite KC Luxury Over Alleged Cocaine Trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos-based social media influencer and businessman Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as KC Luxury, over his alleged connection to an international cocaine trafficking syndicate.

The agency said the arrest followed the interception of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in a consignment being processed through a courier logistics company in Lagos. NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), disclosed the development during a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday.

According to the agency, the seizure represents its largest cocaine interception involving a courier company. Investigators subsequently launched a probe to identify individuals allegedly connected to the shipment and the wider trafficking network.

The NDLEA said another suspect, identified as Lawal Mujab Kehinde, an employee of the logistics company, was arrested during the investigation. The agency alleged that he had links to the network and was involved in processing consignments.

Michael was reportedly arrested on August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The NDLEA said he was allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris when operatives apprehended him.

Marwa said investigators believe the network used Nigeria as a transit point for moving illicit drugs to destinations including the United Kingdom, other parts of Europe and Asia. The agency estimated that the intercepted consignment could have generated about ₦39 billion through international distribution.

The NDLEA further alleged that Michael presented himself publicly as a businessman involved in gold, jewellery and luxury goods. Following his arrest, operatives reportedly recovered foreign currencies and jewellery, while a subsequent search of his residence in Banana Island allegedly led to the recovery of exotic vehicles.

The agency said investigations are ongoing and that international partners have also been involved in efforts to identify other members of the alleged syndicate.

The NDLEA has continued to intensify its efforts to prevent Nigeria from being used as a transit route for illicit drugs, particularly through courier and logistics channels.

The allegations against Michael have not been established in court, and he remains entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence
