2027: ADC Chieftain Petitions EU Over Alleged Tinubu Certificate Irregularities

An African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and lawyer, Kalu Kalu, has petitioned the European Union Commission over allegations concerning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic credentials.

According to reports, Kalu submitted the petition as part of his campaign against Tinubu’s eligibility to contest the 2027 presidential election.

The ADC chieftain has raised questions over documents and academic qualifications attributed to the President, asking the European authorities to examine the issues raised in his petition.

The latest development adds to the series of legal and political challenges surrounding debates over Tinubu’s eligibility ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Similar allegations have previously featured in legal proceedings in Nigeria, although allegations contained in petitions or court filings do not by themselves establish that wrongdoing occurred.

The petition comes as opposition politicians and political groups intensify their activities ahead of the 2027 elections, with questions surrounding candidates’ eligibility expected to remain part of the political debate.
