The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Zamfara State Government have renewed their commitment to strengthening the fight against drug abuse and illicit substance use across the state.

The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, recently called for youth-focused solutions, stronger partnerships and community involvement in addressing drug abuse, describing the issue as both a social and security challenge.
The NDLEA has also repeatedly emphasised the importance of involving traditional rulers, parents and community leaders in preventing drug abuse and reducing the impact of illicit drug trafficking across Nigeria.
Officials said the renewed efforts would focus on public education, early prevention and collaboration with communities to create safer environments, especially for young people.
