President Bola Tinubu and notable civil engineer and media entrepreneur, Araba Femi Sanni, have led a host of distinguished Nigerians in celebrating Prince Samuel Adedoyin, Chairman of the Doyin Group of Companies, as he marked his 90th birthday.
In a statement from the Presidential Villa, President Tinubu hailed Prince Adedoyin as “a towering national icon and one of Nigeria’s most illustrious entrepreneurs,” whose decades of dedication, resilience, and patriotic commitment have significantly shaped Nigeria’s industrial landscape.
“Prince Adedoyin’s life is a testament to what can be achieved through faith, hard work, and an abiding belief in the Nigerian dream,” the President said. He also praised the industrialist’s philanthropic contributions, particularly in education and community development, noting that “generations of Nigerians have benefited from his foresight and generosity.”
President Tinubu personally welcomed his “dear friend and elder statesman” into “the distinguished club of nonagenarians,” praying for continued health and peace.
Joining the accolades, Araba Femi Sanni, Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Chairman of Flow FM, and founder of ARABA Football Club, described Prince Adedoyin as “a transcendent figure in Nigerian enterprise — a man who rose from humble beginnings to global prominence while maintaining humility.”
In a widely circulated tribute, Araba Sanni said, “On behalf of my family and the Flow FM/ARABA family, I celebrate this rare gem and pray that the Almighty continues to bless him with strength, joy, and divine favour.”
The twin tributes from the President and one of Nigeria’s leading professionals underscore Prince Adedoyin’s role as a bridge between public service, private enterprise, and philanthropy. Over six decades, the Doyin Group has become a household name, with interests in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, real estate, hospitality, and soap production.
As messages continue to pour in from governors, traditional rulers, business leaders, and beneficiaries of the Samuel Adedoyin Foundation, the milestone is widely regarded as a moment for Nigeria to reflect on home-grown excellence and the enduring possibilities of the Nigerian spirit.
Prince Adedoyin, a Prince of Offa and the Mayegun of Ibadanland, is expected to host a private thanksgiving service with family and close associates in the coming days.
