Rabat, the Moroccan capital, will play host to the 2025 CAF Awards on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, where Africa’s football greats will be honoured for their achievements over the past year.
According to an official announcement made on Friday, the glamorous evening will kick off at 7 p.m. local time (7 p.m. Nigerian time) and will celebrate the continent’s best players, coaches, clubs, and national teams.
Nigeria is once again in the spotlight, with several of its football stars nominated across key categories.
Nigeria’s Big Names Shine Among Nominees
Leading the list is Victor Osimhen, the reigning African Player of the Year (2023), who is back in the running after another remarkable season abroad.
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali of Chippa United has been shortlisted for Goalkeeper of the Year, while teenage defender Daniel Bameyi (Primorje, Slovenia) is nominated for Young Player of the Year.
In the women’s category, the Super Falcons are well represented. Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico Madrid) and Esther Okoronkwo made the final shortlist for Women’s Player of the Year, while Chiamaka Nnadozie is up for Goalkeeper of the Year.
