Odumodublvck Chooses Arsenal Title Over Grammy Award

The Nigerian rapper says an Arsenal Premier League triumph would mean more to him than music’s biggest individual honour

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has revealed that he would rather see Arsenal win the Premier League than receive a Grammy Award.

The outspoken Arsenal supporter made the comparison while reflecting on his passion for the north London club and its pursuit of the league title.

Odumodublvck made the remarks during an interview with DJ Semtex, which has since gained widespread attention online.

He recalled meeting Super Eagles midfielder Eberechi Eze shortly after Arsenal’s defeat to Manchester City. The pair were working on a New Balance commercial at the time.

According to the rapper, Eze encouraged him to remain confident that Arsenal could still go on to win the title.

“When we lost to Manchester City, I saw Eze the next day when we were doing a New Balance commercial and he told me we’re gonna win the league and I said yes, I believe,” he said.

Odumodublvck explained that Arsenal winning the Premier League would hold greater personal significance for him than securing music’s most prestigious individual award.

He said if he had to choose between receiving a Grammy and watching Arsenal lift the league trophy, his choice would be the club’s success.

“So stuff like that for me, winning the league was everything.

“If you gave me the opportunity to win a Grammy Award or, let’s ask now, win that Premier League, I would have chosen that Premier League. Take it to the bank,” he said.

When asked to reinforce his position, the rapper referred to Arsenal’s controversial 2024/25 campaign and a disputed goal in the club’s defeat to West Ham.

He argued that even if winning the league required reversing such a moment, he would still prioritise the title over a Grammy.

“If I had the chance to win a Grammy Award, yeah, say this is a Grammy Award, and they say let that West Ham goal count or whatever, let them cancel that West Ham goal for us now to win the league, which one will you pick?

“I would pick that league ahead of the Grammy Award,” he said.

Odumodublvck has frequently made his loyalty to Arsenal known, often combining his love for the club with his music and public appearances.

His mention of Eze also reflects the strong connection between football and Nigerian entertainment, with the midfielder enjoying a significant following among Nigerian fans.

For the rapper, though, there appears to be little room for debate: an Arsenal Premier League title would be worth more to him than a Grammy.
