New Meter Rates For Ikeja Electric

New Hampshire Capital, a leading Meter Asset Provider (MAP), has introduced new prices for prepaid meters under the MAP scheme for Ikeja Electric customers.

In a statement, the company announced that a single-phase meter will now cost ₦124,000, while a three-phase meter is priced at ₦215,000. Both prices include installation to ensure transparency and ease for consumers. The new rates take effect on August 6 and remain valid until October 6, 2025.

Chief Operations Officer of New Hampshire Capital, Oluwakemi Omirin, said the pricing review reflects the company’s commitment to empowering electricity users with the tools to monitor and control consumption effectively. She described the move as a significant step toward closing Nigeria’s large metering gap.

“Our mission is to empower consumers with the tools they need to manage their electricity usage effectively,” Omirin said. “By offering these meters at an accessible price point, we are taking a significant step towards addressing the huge metering gap in the country.”

New Hampshire Capital has been a trusted metering partner to Ikeja Electric, financing and installing over 190,000 prepaid meters under the MAP scheme. The company highlighted the durability and accuracy of its meters, noting that they provide a reliable way for customers to monitor usage and avoid estimated billing.

The statement advised Ikeja Electric customers interested in purchasing prepaid meters to apply through the DisCo’s official website and follow the MAP scheme application process.

Omirin emphasised that the company’s quality assurance extends beyond product supply to the installation process. Skilled installers and field engineers ensure meters are deployed promptly and correctly, giving customers confidence in performance from day one.

The firm also provides post-installation support and maintenance, reinforcing its reputation for customer-focused service. “Our commitment to quality covers every stage, from meter production to installation and ongoing support,” the statement added.

By bundling installation costs into the meter price, New Hampshire Capital said it is removing extra financial and logistical hurdles for consumers. The company added that this approach supports Nigeria’s broader efforts to improve transparency, promote accurate billing, and phase out estimated charges.

Reaffirming its support for the Federal Government’s mass metering drive, the firm noted that greater prepaid meter coverage will not only empower consumers but also improve revenue collection for distribution companies, strengthening the power sector’s financial stability.

New Hampshire Capital urged Ikeja Electric customers to take advantage of the two-month price window, stressing that prompt meter acquisition will allow households and businesses to benefit from accurate billing, better energy management, and improved service delivery.
