The National Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives candidate for Okigwe North Federal Constituency of Imo State, Hon. Chidi Mike Anyanwu, alongside other Nigerians in the United States, has hosted the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Washington, D.C.
The engagement comes amid growing conversations about Nigeria’s democratic future and the credibility of the 2027 general elections, with Nigerians in the diaspora increasingly participating in discussions about governance and national development.
The Washington meeting brought together members of the Nigerian diaspora, political stakeholders and professionals to discuss issues including governance, economic development, democratic accountability and the role of Nigerians living abroad in shaping Nigeria’s future.
Obi Engages US Congressional Black Caucus
During his visit to the United States, Peter Obi also engaged with members of the Congressional Black Caucus in the United States Congress.

Anyanwu also called on Nigerians living outside the country to remain active participants in national development.
