Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has criticised former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, accusing him of misleading Nigerians with what he described as political sermons.
Onanuga made the remarks while responding to Obi’s recent comments on the state of the Nigerian economy and the performance of the Tinubu administration.
He urged Obi to stop what he described as attempts to deceive Nigerians through speeches and instead present concrete solutions to the challenges facing the country.
The presidential aide also challenged Obi to explain how he would address Nigeria’s economic difficulties if given the opportunity to govern.
Onanuga’s comments followed Obi’s recent criticisms of the Federal Government, particularly over the rising cost of living and economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians.
He maintained that the Tinubu administration was implementing reforms aimed at addressing the country’s economic challenges, urging Nigerians to assess the government based on its policies and outcomes.
