First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has been honoured by the Lagos Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) for its contributions to technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, audit, assurance and digital trust in Nigeria.
The recognition was presented during the ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th anniversary celebration and awards ceremony, held in Lagos on August 21, 2026. FCMB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yemisi Edun, received the commemorative plaque on behalf of the bank.
The award recognises FCMB’s partnership with ISACA and its contribution to strengthening professional standards and knowledge in Nigeria’s technology and financial services sectors.
Speaking on the recognition, Edun said the bank values its partnership with ISACA, adding that strong governance, cybersecurity, risk management and assurance are increasingly important as financial services become more technology-driven.
She noted that these areas are essential to protecting customers, strengthening institutions and supporting sustainable economic growth.
ISACA Lagos Chapter President, Justus Osuji, also highlighted the organisation’s three decades of professional development and its contributions to information systems auditing, cybersecurity, governance, risk management and emerging technologies in Nigeria.
The anniversary celebration also provided an opportunity for industry stakeholders to discuss the growing importance of digital trust as more financial transactions and services move online.
The banking sector has increasingly relied on digital platforms to provide services to customers, making cybersecurity and effective technology governance important areas of concern for financial institutions.
The presence of ISACA Global Chief Executive Officer, Erik Prusch, at the event further highlighted the international importance of the organisation’s work in strengthening professional standards in technology governance and cybersecurity.
Prusch praised Nigeria’s technology and cybersecurity professionals, describing them as experienced and resilient in responding to the changing demands of the digital economy.
