Nafiu Kangiwa, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency in Kebbi State, has dismissed reports that he has withdrawn from the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Kangiwa said he personally obtained the ADC nomination form and had fulfilled the requirements set by the party and relevant electoral authorities. He described reports of his withdrawal as false and baseless.
He urged his supporters and members of the public to disregard the reports, insisting that his ambition to represent the constituency remains intact.
Kangiwa also called on those spreading the alleged misinformation to stop creating confusion among voters and political stakeholders.
The ADC candidate reaffirmed his commitment to contesting the election under the party’s platform and said he would continue to comply with the party’s guidelines and applicable electoral regulations.
He maintained that political competition should focus on ideas, vision and public confidence rather than misinformation.
The development comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with candidates across the country beginning to strengthen their structures and mobilise supporters.
Kangiwa’s denial is expected to put to rest speculation surrounding his candidacy, at least for now, as he continues his campaign for the Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency seat.
