The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and the redeployment of 14 serving permanent secretaries across various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state civil service.

The development was announced on Tuesday by the Head of the Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman.

According to the statement, the appointments reflect the state government’s commitment to strengthening the machinery of government and improving service delivery.

“I have the pleasure to convey the approval of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the appointment and deployment of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service,” the statement read.

It explained that the postings followed the recent promotion of several directors to the rank of permanent secretary as part of efforts to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the state civil service.

The government expressed confidence that the newly appointed permanent secretaries would carry out their responsibilities with diligence, professionalism and competence in support of the administration’s development objectives.

The statement described the appointments as a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to the people of Kano State.

It added that the postings take immediate effect, with all affected officers directed to complete handing-over and taking-over processes on or before Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
