The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that it will open its recruitment portal on December 15 for the enlistment of 50,000 police constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The application window will close on January 25, 2026.

The Commission disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.

According to the statement, “The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), is pleased to announce the commencement of recruitment of Fifty Thousand (50,000) police constables into the Nigeria Police Force, as directed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.”

It added that the presidential directive is aimed at strengthening community policing, improving internal security, and boosting the manpower capacity of the Force. To this end, the PSC has approved the opening of the recruitment portal for eligible Nigerians to submit applications online via www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.

For the General Duty Cadre, applicants must possess GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent qualifications with at least five credits — including English Language and Mathematics — obtained in not more than two sittings.

Applicants for the Specialists Cadre must have at least four credits (including English and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings, alongside a minimum of three years’ relevant experience and appropriate Trade Test certificates.

Eligible candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth, aged between 18 and 25, and medically, physically, and psychologically fit. Minimum height requirements are 1.67m for men and 1.64m for women (general duty).
