Oluyede Tells Fayose: PDP Won’t Allow You Destroy Ekiti Structure

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has criticised former governor Ayodele Fayose, insisting that the party will no longer allow him to undermine the structure its leaders are building ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

Speaking with journalists after the PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Ado-Ekiti, Oluyede described Fayose’s expulsion from the party as “good riddance to bad rubbish.” He urged the former governor to accept responsibility for his alleged role in weakening the party over the past three years.

Oluyede stressed that, despite Fayose’s alleged anti-party activities, the PDP in Ekiti remained intact, united, and stronger than before. He also called on the state executive, led by Tunji Odeyemi, to set up a reconciliation committee to pacify aspirants who lost the primary election as well as members who may be aggrieved for various reasons.

“Political parties have issues everywhere in the world that’s why they are called political parties,” he said. “I have no issues with the national crisis. I am not running for national office. All I need is Ekiti people behind me, and that’s what we are going to get.”

In his remarks, PDP State Chairman Tunji Odeyemi urged members to return to their polling units and mobilise for Oluyede, assuring them that he would not relent until the party wins the 2026 governorship election.
