Adamawa State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Convention Planning Committee, Ahmadu Fintiri, has confirmed that the party will proceed to Ibadan for its elective convention.

Fintiri made the disclosure during a brief interview with journalists on Thursday night after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

The meeting was attended by key PDP figures, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, and former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Tanimu Turaki, among others.

Addressing reporters after the session, a visibly pleased Fintiri said:
“We’ve just concluded a critical stakeholders’ meeting where several major decisions were taken. I want to tell you that we are going to Ibadan for our convention, and the convention is sacrosanct.”

Attempts to get additional comments from the governor were unsuccessful, as his security aides quickly ushered him away.
