Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Fayose, who arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), was received by the former president’s aides before proceeding to Obasanjo’s private residence, where both men held a closed-door meeting.
Although details of their discussion were not made public, sources described the visit as “private” and said the meeting lasted for over an hour.
The visit comes amid renewed political realignments and reconciliation efforts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fayose, known for his outspoken political style and past criticisms of national leadership, has in recent weeks called for unity among southern political leaders.
His meeting with Obasanjo has, however, sparked speculation about possible consultations and alignments as political activities begin to gather momentum across the country.
